Nexus 7 Speakers

The stock Nexus 7 speakers aren’t all that amazing, they are OK for getting by but if you want some decent sounds I’m afraid you either need to plug in the headphones or get yourself some speakers.

You’ve got a couple of options here, you might go for the traditional plug in portable speakers, they’ll just connect via the 3.5mm headphone jack and away you go.

If you need an extra boost look for some powered amplified speakers, these will probably need batteries or will be mains powered but on the plus side they’ll give you extra volume.

Many speakers are sold as being iPod compatible, you can use these as long as they feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, you don’t want to buy speakers with an iPod docking system, these won’t work.
