Hi

This may have been asked before , but can the Nexus 7 download and be use to read ebooks from your local library.

It would depend upon the system that the library uses. I’ve used the N7 as an ereader without problems so I don’t see why it shouldn’t be possible. Ask the library concerned for advice.

Yes, it will depend on the system your library uses. Mine uses Overdrive which is, apparently, compatible with Android based tablets.

I’ve not tried it out myself but I’m actually quite interested in this. I will investigate, it also looks like my library offers electronic copies of magazines . Not sure how that works.

I use Overdrive to read ebooks from my library and it’s fine. The books are ‘returned’ after 21 days and I can’t renew them but I’ve found that I can reorder and Overdrive remembers the page I was on which is great.

Thanks for the feedback, I really need to check it out next time I am in the library. I got there quite regularly as my little boy loves choosing new books each week (the old fashioned type!).

Just found this post. My wife reads alot and currently has a Kindle, but we are looking at getting a couple of Nexus 7′s and wanted to know if it was possible to put Calibre book reader onto it? With the Nexus being an Android device I don’t know.

Not something I’ve used, but it looks promising, there does seem to be an app and apparantly it is compatible with the Nexus 7. But, like I said, it’s not something I have personally tested.

Have a good read of that page and some of the reviews and it should become clear, looks like it will work to me.
