Nexus 7 is the best tablet available now for £199. It has almost all you need or expect from a tablet. If you are a type of person who plays with android devices, you can even connect nexus 7 to usb drive. You can normally connect most devices like laptops to modern TVs using HDMI cable. Some Samsung phones like Galaxy S3 have micro USB MHL technology. You can use microUSB to HDMI adapter to connect to tv.
Unfortunately, Nexus 7 does not have neither HDMI out not MHL using micro USB. It does not natively support connecting or streaming to a TV via WiFi.

But there are couple of alternative options, you can use them to stream photos, videos, songs or music to your hd tv. These options are mostly available in many homes. Do you have an Apple TV or Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 or latest Samsung Smart TV or WD TV Live etc? You are lucky, you can stream media to your tv easily without any extra cost.
How to connect Nexus 7 to TV via Apple TV 1.Connect Nexus 7 to TV via Apple TV using doubleTwist AirSync AirPlay AirSync is a paid app and costs $5. It is the most loved app for AirPlay. If you have an Apple TV and android phone or tablet like Nexus 7, This app is a must to stream videos, music, photos on to your big screen tv.
a. Download & Install AirSync from Google Play Store to your Nexus 7 Tablet. b. Enable AirPlay by going into Air Sync Settings > Air Twist & Air Play > Enable Streaming c. In the “Allow Network” popup, Tap Allow to allow AirTwist to use WiFi connection. d. Play music or video on your Nexus 7, you will see a new WiFi like icon. Tap on this icon & select “Apple TV” in the popup.This icon appears in landscape mode only for videos. e. You should see music or video playing on your TV
AirSync AirPlay works for Apple TV 2nd and 3rd generations only. That was easy setup to connect Nexus 7 to TV. This app also syncs your iTunes playlists & songs & videos between your android Nexus 7 tablet or android phone with PC or Mac.
2.Connect Nexus 7 to TV via Apple TV using AppleTV AirPlay Media Player ZappoTV app This app is a free app. You can stream photos, videos, songs from your Nexus 7 tablet to TV. You need to create free Zappos account to use this app. It is little hassle to do this. You can search videos, manage playlists. You can watch videos on internet via YouTube, Facebook Videos, Photos etc
Download & Install AppleTV AirPlay Media Player app from Google Play Store.
You can connect Nexus 7 to tv using any of of the following devices also. Western Digital Media Players like WDTV Live, WDTV Live Plus, XBMC, Popcorn Hour, Sony Connected TVs, Samsung Connected TVs. Use the Zappos TV apps from Google Play Store.
How to connect Nexus 7 to TV via Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 a. Download & Install AirSync from Google Play Store to your Nexus 7 Tablet. b. How to connect Nexus 7 to TV via HTC Media Link HD Player If you already have HTC Media Link HD Player, you can use that to connect Nexus 7 to TV. WiFi Media app allows you to connect via HTC Media Link HD Player. After downloading & installing it, select a video & song to play on your Nexus 7 and select “medialink” to play it on your TV.

It’s a shame it isn’t easy to get output out to the TV as there have been a couple of times where this would have been useful. A recent holiday was a good example where the lodge we stayed in had free WiFi, but nothing good on TV!
Unfortunately none of these techniques are of use to me, but I would be interested to hear from people who have managed to stream movies to their telly…?
